US News & World Report has good things to say about Grand Rapids City High School.
"Once again City High Middle School is ranked among the top 300 performing schools in the United States and the second highest performing school in all of Michigan."
GRPS spokesman John Helmholdt says the magazine recognized City High's 100% proficiency rating that students earned in reading and 87% proficiency in math.
Helmholdt says next school year City High Middle School will be relocating to the former Creston high school building, offering more programs and room for additional students.
"There will be more seats available so that students in the city and those students outside the city that want to go thru Schools of Choice process have an opportunity to get into the region's top-performing school."
Principal Michael Pascoe said in a statement Tuesday that students, teachers, and staff aim to be the top Michigan school on next year's list.
