Friday's Ferris Board of Trustees meeting was the time to set tuition and room and board rates for the 2014-15 Academic Year.
Actions taken in Big Rapids hike the upper division courses by 2.97%, lower division sessions go up 2.18%. The University said that means an average increase of 2.58%. FSU's state funding increased by almost 8% and the Board President Gary Granger said they'll provide additional financial assistance for students.
Ferris' room and board rates had already been hiked for the coming year in action by trustees last October. The increase amounts to 2.9%.
Commencement exercises began Friday and continue on the 10th.
