Community members came together Tuesday afternoon to rally support for a Belding police officer who was fired after a bar fight.
WOOD TV reports 17-year-veteran of the Belding PD, Jason Cooper, was involved in an altercation in the parking lot of a bar on Oct. 11.
The fight began when a man used a racial slur toward Cooper, who is Asian.
Cooper was then fired.
People who think Cooper should not have been fired carried signs at the city council meeting reading "Bring Coop Back."
