Consultant Predicts GOP Principles to Play Role in Detroit Comeback

Detroit is not exactly a hotbed for Republicans, but one political consultant says the city could be a great spot to hold the 2016 Republican national convention.

In the coming edition of Time magazine, Republican consultant Mike Murphy predicts the Motor City will be a comeback story and "it will be done on GOP principles."

Detroit hosted the Republican convention in 1980 when Ronald Reagan received the party's presidential nomination.

Murphy also wants to see a regional primary with voters going to the polls the same day in Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
