Dorr Woman Charged With Embezzling From Kentwood Rec Department

Kentwood's mayor has a statement after a recreation employee placed on unpaid administrative leave 2 months ago moved through District Court on embezzlement charges.

47 year old Deborah Salmon of Dorr is accused of taking $139 thousand according to court records. Richard Clanton's written comments point to losses dating back to 2005. The possibility exists there are $300 thousand in funds taken from Kentwood's recreation department. The statement indicates the city will "continue to provide quality recreation services" and "cash and deposit procedures have been into place for all city financial transactions."
