Electricity to be Interrupted for Muskegon Homes

Consumers Energy Company plans to turn the power off for 9,500 houses in the Muskegon area early on Saturday morning.

The power company says it will repair some equipment and individual outages should only last 15-minutes or so, and occur well before dawn.

Here is the schedule of which areas are to be affected:

  • From 4 a.m. to 4:15 a.m.: Along Airline Road between Lincoln Avenue in Muskegon Heights and East Sternberg Road in Fruitport Township, 2,993 customers affected.
  • From 5 a.m. to 5:15 a.m.: Along and several blocks east and west of Henry Street, between Post Road in Roosevelt Park and Forest Park Road in Norton Shores, 4,676 customers affected.
  • From 5:15 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.: Along and several blocks east and west of Henry Street between Young Avenue in Muskegon and Post Road in Roosevelt Park, 1,862 customers affected.

Consumers Energy says you should get a notice in the mail, as well.
