Fiat Hires Advisor to Help Buy Remaining Chrysler Shares from UAW

One of the key players in the bankruptcy proceedings for Chrysler in 2009 has been hired by Fiat to advise the automaker on how to purchase the outstanding shares of the automaker from the United Auto Workers union.

Ron Bloom served as the second in command to President Obama's auto task force.

Fiat owns the majority of Chrysler shares but has been at odds with the UAW Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association over the price of those shares.

Chrysler officials announced earlier this week they are preparing the necessary documents for an initial public offering Chrysler stock.

Bloom currently serves as vice chairman of a large investment firm.
