General Motors says when the Cadillac ELR plug-in luxury coupe hits dealer lots next year it will come with a price tag starting at $79,995.
The production of the vehicle is expected to start in December at GM's Hamtramck Plant with vehicles getting to dealers in January. The automaker says the car will have a range of greater than 300 miles overall while the battery-only range is approximately 35 highway miles.
GM officials say the government is still offering a $7,500 tax credit which brings the net cost of the vehicle to $68,495.
