A package left a few doors down from the Grand Rapids Police headquarters Friday evening saw the block cordoned off for a time.
Around 9 p.m., a call to 9-1-1 indicated a motorist found a package on their car when they returned to it on Monroe Center NW. They moved the item to the sidewalk, police checking on the scene opted to take precautions while confirming their belief the item was harmless.
The desk lieutenant told WOOD Radio an on-duty bomb technician will review the package with available equipment before they move the item and clear the area.
