Gym Employee Accused of Planting Cell Phone to Record Customers Tanning

Muskegon police say they have arrested a man accused of planting his cell phone and using it to record people in a tanning booth.

A customer at Planet Fitness on the 2500 block of Henry Street found the cellphone after her tanning session on Wednesday and reported it to police.  At the same time, the employee who owned the phone called police and claimed someone stole the phone and planted it.

Police say 25-year-old Trent Jannenga has since admitted to planting the device and deleted the videos, and authorities found no evidence that he shared the files.  Jannenga's charged with capturing images of an unclothed person and false report of a felony.
