Hamilton Girl Missing, Possibly with California Man She Met Online

Allegan Sheriff's deputies think that a missing 13 year old girl from Hamilton may be with a man from California that she met on the internet.

Rachel Baker was last seen around 11 pm Monday and was discovered missing in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Deputies say that she is known to have been in contact with a 34-year old man from California who she had met on the Internet.   Joseph Arpin actually had showed up in Michigan about two weeks ago and contacted Rachel.

Rachel had an overnight runaway before, but she returned.  This time, Rachel’s mother found a letter  indicating that Rachel may have left the area with Arpin.

A tracking dog followed her scent from the bedroom window to a spot across the street where it seems she may have gotten into a vehicle.

They say Arpin owns a burnt orange 1999 Ford Mustang with expired California plate 4GLK114.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Allegan County Sheriff's Office at 269-673-0500 or Silent Observer.
