Kent County Officers Stand Strong On Marijuana Butter Case

The Prosecutor offers a plea deal to the four Kent County Sheriff's Deputies who have been charged with marijuana possession.

But officers Tim Bernhardt, Mike Frederick,Todd VanDoorne and Brian Tennant have not accepted it, and are headed to court because they each had marijuana butter.

Each man, or his wife, is licensed for Medical Marijuana and all believe they are allowed to have a butter made from THC.

The problem comes in the nit-picking that lawyers do over the wording in the Medical Marijuana law.

Lawyers say the law is not clear because smoking weed may be legal, but it says nothing about making something from the active ingredient.
