Friday is a vacation day for Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk. It is not his last day of service for a department where he's worked 34 years. Some of the media recalling their coverage when Belk announced his retirement a month ago were saying this is the chief's last day. The Chief's office tells WOOD Radio he'll be back in next Tuesday.
Grand Rapids City Manager Greg Sundstrom has asked for his help in transitioning to and finding his replacement.
