Michigan State Police say more methamphetamine labs were seized in 2012, but law enforcement fielded fewer overall complaints about the drug.
According to an annual report from the Department of State Police, 325 meth labs were seized last year, up from 254 in 2011.
Overall meth complaints, which include issues such as labs, dumpsites and glass seizures, rose slightly from 525 to 553, but was well below the 760 complaints in 2010.
Southwest Michigan had the most meth labs and meth incidents that involved police response in 2012. Police responded to 347 incidents in the region that covers Allegan, Van Buren, Berrien, St. Joseph, Barry, Cass and Kalamazoo counties.
