New Playground for Special Needs Kids was a Volunteer Affair

Parents and teachers at the Lincoln Developmental Center in Grand Rapids school raised half a million dollars over the past five years and used the money to build a new playground for the special-needs students.

It is brightly colored, has musical elements to it and, says one mother, perfect for kids with special needs.

Rose Wiekierak told WOOD TV that the money would not have been available through the GR Public Schools normal budgeting process.
