Online Petition Asks for Charges Related to Alleged Purse Snatcher's Detainment

There's an online petition asking the Kent County Prosecutor to determine whether to charge the man who helped detain a suspected purse-snatcher.

The man was among several who held Mikayla Hull (pictured) to the ground during the incident last month behind the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

Hull bit his wrist, after which he punched her in the head several times.

More than 200 people have put their names on that petition at Change.org, some of whom say the man was unjustified in subduing Hull that way.

Police reportedly determined it was justified.  The Kent County Prosecutor's office confirmed to WOOD Radio there are no plans to charge the man.

The petition makes no mention of the fact that Hull bit the man.

Hull has been arraigned in the purse-snatching incident and faces charges related to a home invasion, as well.
