Part-Time For State Lawmakers?

People will start circulating the petitions to try to get the issue of a Part-time Legislature on the ballot in November.

Norman Kammaraad tells WOOD Radio that his committee wants to "restore" our state government to the "citizen-driven" legislature it used to have. He says, "Five decades of failed policies, failed economy, and more than a million people leaving the state" are proof that full-time lawmaking failed.

He says "independent polling" shows 85 percent of Michigan voters want a part-time legislature.

He says his group wants to collect more than 400,000 signatures to get the proposal on the ballot.
