Proposed Michigan Law Would Require Social Media Access for Next of Kin

A proposed law in Michigan would let the families of people who die, have controlling access to their social media pages.

At this point, many people are in the situation that Mark and Angel Howell are, in having to remember their dead daughter by reading her old Facebook postings.

Krysta was killed at the age of 15, two years ago, when a drunk driver wrecked the car she was in.

Facebook will not allow her parents to get her password or access her page.

State Representative Tom Leonard says his proposed law would require that families have that access and that they be allowed to delete any pictures they do not want posted for all time.
