The public is being given one final opportunity to visit part of the historic Detroit-area factory where Rosie the Riveter once worked.
Much of the former Willow Run bomber plant in Ypsilanti Township is to be torn down.
But a tour of the property is scheduled for Saturday. It's being offered to those who pre-register for a free conference showcasing the plant's history.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the event is part of the nearby Yankee Air Museum's campaign to preserve a 175,000-square-foot section of the 5 million-square-foot plant as its future home.
If the museum meets its fundraising goal by Nov. 1, it'll win the right to acquire a section of the plant in a deal with the General Motors bankruptcy trust.
