Salvation Army Nixes Proposal to Move Turning Point Program to Old School

The Salvation Army has withdrawn its offer to buy the former Fairview Elementary School in Walker.

WOOD TV reports the organization had considered moving its Turning Point drug rehabilitation program into that building, but neighborhood residents objected.

The Salvation Army at one point had a $500,000 purchase agreement with Kenowa Hills Public Schools to buy the property.
