Opponents of a US military strike against Syria have started gathering for a rally Saturday morning at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids.
Shortly before 11, WOOD Radio saw about 10 protestors had gathered. The protest started at 9.
Grand Rapids resident CJ (pictured) was there. He told WOOD Radio he's not surprised the US is considering military action.
"I think it would be largely immoral. It's basically fighting Israel's Zionist, imperialist wars for them."
He said also he believes it's important for people to show their opinions, so that's why he showed up.
"I think it is a responsibility for all Americans, anyone of privilege, anyone in a position to do so, to participate in our political lives."
The Obama administration has blamed the Syrian regime for a chemical weapons attack August 21 near Damascus. The President's considering a punitive strike in response.
