More than 120,000 men and women in Michigan have served in the military since 9/11.
Jason Allen with the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs says a high number of them are now unemployed after returning from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He says there are several reasons employers might want to hire veterans.
Allen says there are tax credits for businesses who hire veterans. He also says returning veterans have health insurance for the next five years and have benefits under the G.I. Bill for further education.
