Governor Rick Snyder traveled to Manistee for the funeral of the Michigan State Police trooper who was killed during a traffic stop earlier this week.
Visitation began at 10 a.m. Saturday for Troooper Paul Butterfield. Funeral services followed at 1 p.m.
State Police Colonel Kristie Etue also went to the public ceremonies, as did a large crowd of people wanting to pay their respects (pictured at left).
The Michigan State Police the MSP have a fund for Butterfield's family.
